The Alfred App
I’ve been using the Alfred App for about a month now and it’s really one of the best desktop apps I’ve tried in a while. I have no idea if it’s widely used, but it has at least improved my productivity quite a bit. What it does is that it let’s you search anything on your computer and the web, launch apps and do various in-app stuff (if you have the pro version)...

Simple iPhone App Prototyping
I just came across Jyri Engeström’s blog this past weekend and found a really neat post on iPhone app prototyping. So many people seem to have an idea for an iPhone app these days, so while it’s not that hard to hack together something basic with HTML/CSS and a bit of JavaScript, Jyri’s approach is really neat if you just want to put together something super fast to show off your...

Been spending some time lately researching various solutions for doing web development on the iPad. Especially Ruby on Rails stuff. It seems like it will be a pretty constrained experience, but on the other hand there’s something about the clarity and lack of cognitive overhead that makes it very tempting to try out. At least on some occasions. The least feasible aspect of it so far has been...

Really neat virtual art gallery app from Becks via PSFK From my experience it’s still early days for AR. Especially from a UX perspective when it comes to usefulness. Somehow it reminds me of WAP. The general direction is right, but there needs to be more bits and pieces falling into place for it to be useful. Computing moving past the mobile phone/tablets and into the real world maybe? ...
