The KKK Took My Baby Away
I love the guys in Ramones and this track is a classic: The KKK Took My Baby Away. What’s adding to the song is that Joey was toghether with a woman, who Johnny later stole from him and married. Joey never got over this, and hence wrote the song. It’s not hard to understand why the two had a rather tense relationship. Imagine the two performing the song together.

Muxtape, a new mixtape service was launched a few days ago. Seems like a new generation of music/recommendation services are coming. Might it be that human recommendation triumphs computer algorithms? Here’s a pretty nice playlist.

The Consequence of Limitations and Daily Routines
Fred Wilson has an interesting post up on the consequence of limitations and daily routines. I’m a big fan of the less is more approach and I used to be a routine person. With regards to selecting stuff, it being photos, music or whatever, it’s so much more fun to create something when there are restrictions. Publishing or creating is enjoyable. But, a great part of the experience is...

Matador and Anti - Free Album Sampler
I love the way the music industry is changing these days. More and more indie labels have started to adjust and Matador and Anti have taken a new step by giving away a free album sampler, including artists like Cat Power, Jay Retarded and. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Download album sampler here and more over at In The Crowd here.

I went to a festival at Randall’s Island in NYC last fall and saw Wild Light, Blond Readhead, Les Savy Fav, LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire.
