I’ve wanted to see this one for a while. Short summary from Wikipedia:

Branded to Kill is a 1967 Japanese yakuza film directed by Seijun Suzuki. It was a low budget production and the studio was so unhappy with the original script that Suzuki had to rewrite and direct it at the last minute. Many of the ideas implemented in the movie therefore were thought up the night before, or on the set while filming. The film was given a satirical, anarchic and visually eclectic twist, which had Suzuki blacklisted and banned from making more movies the next ten years. This lead to status as a counterculture hero, and the movie is today considered an absurdist masterpiece, cited as an influence by filmmakers such as Jim Jarmusch, John Woo, Chan-wook Park and Quentin Tarantino.
