tumblr, although being a publishing platform, is really the world´s best social network. Simply brilliant. Added the follow button, which enabled the dashboard, which essentially is the same as the most important consumer Internet invention in 2006; the Facebook newsfeed. Invented the reblog button, which was the most important consumer Internet invention in 2007. Made it super easy to post, and hence lowered the publishing barriers normally associated with blogs. Made it super easy to post in different categories. Hence, added some minor structure to the data. Attracted great people. And, it´s open.
